This logo is for VECO Power Trading, a small proprietary trading firm specializing in wholesale electricity futures. The request was for a modern logo in black and white but otherwise mostly left up to me as the designer.
The inspiration for the "V" in VECO was to recall the swoop of power lines, referencing the products and markets the firm trades in. As a company comprised of engineers and quantitative folks, the reference to the physical manifestation of the contracts was appreciated and resonated with how the firm saw itself.
