This still life I really wanted to capture the texture of the vase and the shawl, trying to find the right balance of highlighting details and fading them. There were also moments I felt pulled away from realism and more into expressionism, but I believe they worked.
Thematically I seem to like seasonal still life, as I also have a Spring and Summer piece in my portfolio. I just need a Winter themed still life for a complete set.
